• Rapid Recovery System
- The new Rapid Recovery System reduces the impact of errors by not sending abnormal or badly fed images, and allows scanning to resume immediately without having to delete or rescan affected documents.
• Auto Shading Adjustment
- Built-in shading boards on both the upper and lower sensor units automatically adjust shading to provide stable, high quality images every time.
• 3-Dimensional Colour Correction
- New advanced 3-D colour conversion is built in to ensure the appropriate combination of RGB data, improving on existing, less accurate, gamma correction.
• Improved Black & White Contrast
- Seven varieties of B&W Contrast are available to effectively adjust images to their appropriate contrast – from light text on light backgrounds to dark on dark.
• Remove Punch Holes
- Bound documents are made more presentable when scanned with the new binder hole removal function, automatically removing paper punch hole marks from the original image.
• Advanced Text Enhancement
- Advanced Text Enhancement automatically adjusts the text threshold and background for precise processing, enhancing text from low contrast images.

• Straight Path Feeding for Thicker Items
- Straight Path feeding allows easy scanning of thick documents such as driver’s licenses, plastic and business cards – even thick cardboard up to 546g/m2.
• Card Scanning
- A new floating mechanism means the DR-2580C can scan thick documents thanks to a system of rollers that move according to the thickness of the document.
• Reliable Paper Feeding
- The DR-2580C offers reliable paper feeding with Canon’s original Retard roller paper separation mechanism.
• Double Feed Detection
- The DR-2580C detects the length of documents to prevent the occurrence of double feeding.
• Skew Detection
- Skew Detection prevents documents from tearing or jamming by correcting the skew of documents fed at an incorrect angle.
• Flatbed Scanner Unit
- The optional Flatbed Scanner Unit is available for scanning bound and thicker documents.

• Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard, the world-standard imagining application for creating PDF files, is another value-added application to ensure optimum performance with plug-ins including electronic forms, document sharing, electronic signature and database software connections.
